The Trick To Money Is Having Some, Stuart Wilde
“Money is a thought-form, a symbol of energy, and has no real intrinsic value. It is neither good nor bad, positive or negative. It is impartial. The guy who wrote that “money is the root of all evil” just flat out didn’t have any! You can’t make it through the physical plane without it. And whereas sometimes the love of money can cause people to become evil and weird, it is a fact that you cannot be free without money. Poverty is a restriction, and, and such, it is the greatest injustice you can perpetrate upon yourself.” ~ Stuart Wilde
Do you agree with this quote or not?
Did it trigger some emotions within you?
If so, which emotions? More importantly, why?
I wanted to share this book with you because so many people have deeply rooted beliefs and preconceived notions about money that stem from early childhood that often go unexamined. This book is an excellent place to begin unlearning what society has taught us about money to attract it into our lives more naturally.
Here is a list of Wilde’s ten core concepts on how to shift your consciousness to be more attune with money; what he calls Dollar Dance Concepts. I’ve distilled them for you here. Please read each one carefully and spend a moment to think about each one free of judgment.
- Abundance will never be a factor in how much money one has. Instead, it is always a factor of how much one feels about the money one does have.
- Even if you have only a tiny amount of money, you can use your mind to create the illusion that what you do have is overwhelming abundance, which will become a reality.
- Learning to accept oneself is the foundation of receiving.
- Learning to charge appropriately is vital to your abundance. Never devalue yourself by charging less than what you feel you are worth.
- Money is a symbol of security, so the thoughts that endorse insecurity negatively affect your ability to create it. Money flows toward stability.
It moves away from instability. - The greatest revenge is doing well.
- Concentrate on what you know and what works. Focus on what is comfortable and controllable.
- Accepting personal responsibility is vital to becoming liberated financially.
- You have the right to choose whom you associate with and under what circumstances. Eliminating negativity allows for positivity to pour into your life more readily.
- Successfully serving people will require learning how to subjugate your ego to others’ needs long enough to part with their money. Raising
your energy and coming from underneath to serve others is the way to go.
You may agree or disagree about any of these concepts. Perhaps you are wondering how in the world you can start implementing these concepts into your life that will lead to tangible results.
Try this exercise:
- Write down why you want money, what you are willing to do to receive the amount you desire, and what you will do upon receiving it.
- Most importantly, write down why you want the money? Is it merely satisfying the ego, or do you have a more spiritual connection to your efforts?
- List all of your debts and make a plan to pay them down. Stick to a cash budget and get out of debt intentionally. It would help if you learned how to manage what you have before attempting to do so with more.
- Understand your intentions and gain clarity of your money-making efforts by learning to step outside of your emotions. Create a tight-knit circle of your supporters, identify their specific roles clearly and effectively, and never make assumptions; instead, communicate effectively.
- Concentrate on yourself, and stop focusing on what others are doing. Look after your mind, body, and spirit so you can resonate an inner strength. What’s the point of having money if you cannot resonate higher energy and enjoy yourself?
- Know that you can serve your way up when you are strong and have something to offer. Get organized and bill people accordingly while meeting their needs and doing well by them.
Concerning The Trick To Money Is Having Some, I’ve included this book on the financial literacy list because it helps clarify our thoughts and emotions surrounding money and how they influence our economic state of mind and choices. Once we can be a bit more honest with ourselves, we can start to heal and make lasting changes. We can’t fix a behavior problem with money because the root cause needs fixing first and foremost.
Wilde was heavily influenced by Taoist philosophy, so if you are familiar with the Tao Te Ching, you will be familiar with the concept of Wei wu Wei, the act of non-doing. It’s not about sitting back and doing nothing; instead, it’s about becoming and embodying the way by letting go of our labels, any fixed concepts, desires, and judgments that we may have.
To better understand this, please read Tao Te Ching, preferably Stephen Mitchell’s new English version, as it will make more sense. I think you will enjoy both books.
