Happy Money, Ken Honda
“Worrying about money is an addiction that keeps you from focusing on what else is going on in your life.” ~ Ken Honda
Ken Honda’s Happy Money is an excellent read, full of great insights. It can help anyone discover more about healing emotional wounds surrounding money that we often learn early in life and have difficulty discarding.
So what is Happy Money?
According to Honda, “all the money circulated with love, care, and friendship is Happy Money. Happy money makes people smile and feel loved and cared for deeply. It is in many ways an active form of love- a way in which people can see, feel, and touch.”
Money constantly flows throughout the world, and we get to choose our flow level depending on the energy in which the money is either given or received.
So ask yourself, do you feel irritated and rushed, or peaceful and content concerning your flow of money?
Examples of Happy Money:
- Helping a struggling family member out of a challenging situation
- Sending donations to people affected by a natural disaster
- Raising money for a worthy cause
- Investing in a business opportunity or community project aligned with your highest values
- Receiving payment from satisfied customers that you serve well through your chosen work or profession
Unhappy money, on the other hand, “is the kind of money you use to pay your rent, bills, and taxes begrudgingly.”
Examples of Unhappy Money:
- Paying or receiving money after hostile divorce proceedings
- Cash received for any work you don’t truly enjoy but continue to do
- Begrudgingly making payments on high-interest debt
- Receiving money from a resentful person or entity
- Theft of any kind
Honda states, “if you heal the pain you have about money, your financial situation will absolutely change- and dramatically so. Your money- and hence your life- is a reflection of your beliefs about money. If you believe it is something that can be used for good, that is abundant, and that can be given and received freely, your outer life will begin to reflect that inner change. But if you hold on to negative mindsets and false beliefs about money-that, it is evil, that it creates drama, that it is the root cause of all that is bad in your life- you can bet that your reality will soon reflect that inner monologue.”
